Name: House
History: House started in USA at a club called the house.
In the beginning it was a new way of mixing old
disco tunes together, acompanied by legendary
drum machines like tr 808 and 909. Soon after
the disco transformed into an electronic
style named after the club where it was born,
but it still kept the fundamental idear of it's
origin: disco.
Sound: If you should descripe house in just one word it
would be "Happy", because house is happy music,
it makes you feel happy.
In the last years house music has changed from
being underground to mainstream music, and
therefore there is a tendency for commercialism
in house.
Instruments: The intruments you'll find in house music is
often very soft (organs or strings). House allso
has a lot of vocals or people shouting differnt
things about love and so on.
Beats: Well house is dance-music, made for the dance-
floors around the world. The beat is therefor
"4OnTheFloor" 140 bpm rytmes. They often use
soft BassDrums from 909 or 808, with long
hihats and latin influenced Snare rolles.

Subgenres:
-AcidHouse: was born back in 1989, when some wird
people discovered an electronic instrument called
Tb 303 made by Roland. This instrument was an
electronic version of a guitar and a bass, but
was a complete faliure, because it diddent sound
like them. Enyway these people liked the tb 303
because of its funny sound filters, who could
make eny theme interresting and psychedelic.
So they incorporated it into house, and a new
style was born. A normal acidhouse track is
constructed by 2 tb303, playing 2 funky themes,
and a tr 909 or 808 + sampled voices of crying,
singing or talking people.

-Deephouse: Adding the word deep to a genre in
electronic music means that the music becomes
monotome. So deephouse is just house where
nothing really happens, and it becomes difficult
to divide the different tracks from each other.

-SpeedGarage: This is a relatively new house style
witch is a kind of hybrid between house and jungle.
Speedgarage tracks often use jungle bas themes,
with jazzy organs accompanied by beats with lots of
small different snares and hihats. Sometimes a
vocal is added too.

-Filterhouse (frencehouse): Some people think that
it was the frence musicians like daft punk and so
who evented this style. The truth is that it was
born in USA, but was adopted by the frence who
develop it further on. The basic idear in Filter
house, is to finde an old disco record, sample a
piece of a song, and filtering this up and down
to a house beat.

around with their hands in their pockets. |
