Name: Hardcore
History: The history of hardcore starts in the early
90'ties. In the beginning the style diddent have
a real name because it was a part of the rave
and techno culture at that time. through 92, 93
the style developed to be an independant style
with it's own characteristic features. Today
hardcore tracks is mainly produced in germany
netherland and England.
Sound: The sound of hardcore resembles techno, but
it is much harder, faster and noisier. The themes
are short and minimal if there at all are eny.
Hardcore tunes allso have voices that are pitched
very high, so they sound like mice or smuf
voices. Many hardcore tunes can be made with only
4 channels, and that is why many of the early
tracks was made on simpel Amigas with 8bit sounds.
Instruments: The classic hardcore instruments is allmost
enything, bells, noise sweeps, voices, pianos
or 303 sounds.
Beats: Hardcore beats are "4onTheFloor" rythmes at about
140-200 bpm and have by definition an overboosted
and noisy Bassdrum.
Very often a short breakbeat is mix ontop of the
beat. The bassdrums, clap, snare and hihat is
ofcoz often sampled form tr909's while the
breakbeats often are classic breaks.

Subgenres:
-Rave: This style has excisted from the very
early start of eletronic music. In the fist
years it was used about eny kind of electronic
music, except industrial and electro. The style
still excist today, but its not that common
enymore. The charateristic thing about rave is
that it contains elements from all kinds of
electronic music like jungle, techno, trance,
house and industrial. A classic rave tune often
have a fast 4OnTheFloor rythme, with 909 drums
and a breakbeat ontop of it. The theme is often
simple and funny, while the bas theme is minimal.
Voice samples is an important part of rave, and
in some cases there is even vocals. The voices
are high pitched and they are often minded for
the dancing people.

-Happy hardcore: This is much like rave, but as
the word indicates its more happy. Happy harcore
has more breakbeats than rave and the vocals are
often girls singing about how happy she is.
Happy hardcore is often played together with
jungle and is mainly produced in england and
germany.

-Gabber: is the hardest, fastest and the most
noisiest of all the hardcore styles. It's not
unusual to finde a tempo at about 200 bpm or more.
Gabber is mainly produced in Netherland by the
dutch people.
